Professional Summary

Danie is a commercial and finance expert, with over 23 year of experience.  During this time, he was fortunate enough to be able to experience the business environment from different angles: theoretical studies, consultancy, analysis and then the actual management of businesses. This helped Danie to obtain a holistic and integrated view of business.  Throughout his professional career he focused on specific areas and obtained specialized expertise in the fields of Banking, Business Rescue and Restructuring, Agriculture, Real Estate, Entrepreneurship and Training.   His greatest strengths are that he is dedicated, ethical, hardworking and has a passion for excellence.

Experience

During his time as officer in the defence force and later as university student Danie served in numerous leadership positions. The most significant being that he served on the executive committee of the university’s Student Representative Counsel with the responsibility of training and equipping all other student leaders on campus.    After his studies, Danie embarked on his career in 1997 when he was tasked with the managing of a diversified farming enterprise in the Free State.    In 1999, Danie was employed by ABSA Business Bank as an Agricultural Economist.  During this time he analysed the financial affairs and consulted more than 100 farming business. After two years as Agricultural Economist, he was appointed as Business Banker for ABSA’s large sector clients.  During 2005 he was head-hunted by First National Bank and appointed in the Accounts Executive to a portfolio of FNB’s Mid Corporate clients in the Free State and Northern Cape.   During 2007, Danie left the bank and founded Spesfund (Specialised Funding Solutions).  Spesfund was founded with the mission of providing specialised funding solutions to clients.  Due to the entrepreneurial spirit of Danie, various other opportunities also presented itself after the founding of Spesfund, which Danie grabbed hold of with both hands and managed them to success.
